Integrated Child Protection Scheme (ICPS), 2010

As Jai Mahaveer Seva Samiti, we supported the design of ICPS under MWCD. Within the first year, CPCs were formed and 2,500 children were rehabilitated from work to enroll in schools.

POCSO Act, 2012

The 2007 national study on child abuse, conducted with MWCD, UNICEF, and Prayas, informed government engagement and contributed to the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act, 2012.

Juvenile Justice Act, 2015

Continuous engagement with the Government of Jammu and Kashmir supported passage of the 2013 JJ Act, aligned with national law. Two recommendations submitted to MWCD were included in the 2021 amendment.

Child and Adolescent Labour Act (CALPRA), 1986

Nominated by MoL and E to the Central Advisory Board, Jai Mahaveer Seva Samiti provided inputs that supported the CALPRA amendment and inclusion of the 15-18 age group. Recommendations were also included in NCPCR guidelines on preventing child trafficking during COVID-19.

SOP on Street Children, 2017 and 2020

A first-of-its-kind SOP for children in street situations was developed with NCPCR. SOP 2.0 was shared with the PMO to support interventions in 50 religious towns and implemented with WCD departments in multiple states.

RMNCH Coalition Secretariat, 2012

MoHFW constituted the RMNCH coalition for improved maternal and child health outcomes. Jai Mahaveer Seva Samiti held the secretariat and later convened the Urban Health working group when the coalition was revived.

India Newborn Action Plan (INAP), 2014

We contributed to the development of INAP with MoHFW to reduce neonatal mortality and support SDG goals by 2030. MoHFW recognized the technical support provided by Jai Mahaveer Seva Samiti.

SAANS Campaign and IDCF Guidelines, 2019

With UNICEF and CHAI, Jai Mahaveer Seva Samiti supported MoHFW in drafting and rolling out SAANS guidelines and has supported IDCF campaigns since 2014.

NITI Aayog Statement of Intent, 2019

Jai Mahaveer Seva Samiti signed a Statement of Intent for the Aspirational District Programme in Jharkhand and Bihar and contributed to NITI-CSO working groups across health, justice, education, and child rights.

New Education Policy, 2020

Three Jai Mahaveer Seva Samiti recommendations were included in NEP 2020. A strategic partnership with NIDM was established to institutionalize training on Education in Emergency and develop state-specific roadmaps.
